All About Foot Detox
The foot detox began with an old Japanese legend. About 1600 years ago, a group of sick people and monks were making a pilgrimage. One night, while they were traveling along a deep mountain, they found themselves tired and exhausted. They noticed a hot spring sprouting from a rock and decided to relax their feet in it right before going to sleep. After waking, the monks and others felt rejuvenated and believed they had experienced a foot detox because they felt healthier than ever. Later on, after the pilgrimage, doctors confirmed that all of their illnesses had disappeared. From then on, the legend of the foot detox was born.
Multitudes of people went on the same pilgrimage to locate the hot spring and get healed. The foot detox changed people’s lives. Doctors later made a connection between foot spas and healing.
Now, all kinds of foot spas are being sold. Equipped with an electronic device such as an ion producer, herbs are added to the water in order to give people a soothing, detoxifying experience. Sold all over the world, many people have a lot of faith in the foot detox. However, Japanese manufacturers do not say that these spas detoxify the feet. The only claims they make are that it improves health and gets rid of fatigue and illnesses linked to stress. The foot detox is an intricate process that may or may not really work.
It has been said that the foot detox gets rid of the toxins in the body by producing and alternating both negative and positive ions in the body. After a foot detox, the body’s ph balance is supposedly altered causing less acidity. But with all of the things the foot detox is supposed to do for your body, many people wonder whether the foot detox really works. Does it actually eliminate diseases and fatigue? Research done on the foot detox has revealed that the foot detox may not live up to all of the expectation surrounding it. For instance, it has been found that the foot detox is unable to rid the body of toxic wastes. It also has not been proven that the foot detox gets rid of viruses, bacteria or fungus. However, the foot detox does relieve muscle pain and tension. Also, in come cases, the foot detox helps to rid the skin of wrinkles and other skin problems. However, in other cases the foot detox does not rid the skin of any ailments.
The foot detox has not been proven to cleanse the liver of toxins and other parasites. And only in some case does a foot detox promote weight loss.
Even though many of the things people believe about the foot detox have been proven to be myths, there is always is the placebo theory. Sometimes, all it takes to get healing is faith. And if a person has faith that a certain type of detox will rid them of an illness, maybe they will at least experience some relief from the illness’ symptoms. One never really knows.
