How to Fix Hormone Imbalances...
Dear Dr. Banerjee: I recently started to notice things like night sweats, cramping, severe mood swings, and some hot flashes. But I am only 36 years old and they seem like menopause symptoms. I went to my doctor and he gave antidepressant and sleeping pills. They have really not helped my problems. I have also been very tired lately. I get enough sleep but when I wake up I feel exhausted. Please tell me how I could get my old self back. What is causing all these problems? Stacy K., Cambridge, OH
Dear Stacy: You are showing the classical signs of female hormone imbalance. Symptoms of hormone imbalance in women can begin as early as the late 20’s to the 40’s. There could be a lot of different symptoms like: depression or low mood, fibrocystic breasts, hair loss or facial hair growth, low sex drive, PMS, headaches, foggy thinking, weight gain, wrinkly skin, just to name a few.
What you have to understand is that the female hormones don’t just all of a sudden just malfunction by them selves. Your hormones are responding to stress as the stress hormone cortisol. When our body is under stress for a certain time it causes an imbalance in the relationships with your cortisol and DHEA levels. This will cause your cortisol to go up and your progesterone levels drops.

You need to test the levels of cortisol and to discover any imbalances. Then You can fix it. Since you're having female hormone imbalance symptoms it is a good idea to look at your cortisol levels and female hormones and see if we can fix your whole hormone system at the same time and try to make all your symptoms go away. That will eliminate symptoms like the depression, fatigue, night sweats, hot flashes. And it'll improve your metabolism so you will start to have more energy.
Your hormones are controlled by what are known as cosmic cycles. One of the most important cosmic cycles is a monthly cycle. This cycle is regulated by the moon. Let me briefly go over this cycle. In the first 10 to 12 days of the menstrual cycle, only estrogen is produced in the female body. Progesterone's only produced if ovulation occurs. Both hormone levels will start to drop on day 28. This results in menstruation. If ovulation did not happen, the estrogen levels are never balanced by progesterone.
Most of the imbalances and symptoms start to happen when there is a dramatic event that happened in your life. This stressful event will decrease your immune response. This is when different kinds of bugs (parasites and bacteria) can attack the body. Stressful events will increase the production of cortisol. So if you have many stressful events happening in your life your cortisol level will be very high. This will create a huge imbalance with the cortisol and progesterone level.
Female hormone symptoms are a big issue, and we are able to help control these symptoms with natural plant based hormones. Most of the symptoms can go away within a month or two. But what I want you to do is figure out the underlining problem. The underlining cause of your female hormone imbalance is typically in one of two areas and sometimes in both. Adrenal stress hormone. Something affects the stress response first. Then over time as cortisol level increases the female hormone levels start to drop.
Its also my exprience that the majority of women with significant imbalances have some problem with their digestive tract. So they may have symptoms like: diarrhea or constipation, gas, bloating, indigestion, food cravings. Those are all signs that there's something wrong with your digestive tract. If you can't adequately digest then you can't absorb nutrients very well. That means you're not going to be able to absorb nutrients you need to make the hormones that we have been talking about.
