Getting Rid of Love Handles

There is a wide common misconception among many people concerning how to loose your love handles.  However, it is easy to understand why so many people are mislead to think this particular myth.  When you are trying to loose your love handles, you automatically begin to think about exercising, and what better exercise to do than sit-ups?  Many people think that this exercise targets their love handles and removes the fat around their midsection; however, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

 When you perform sit ups, you are strengthening your muscles underneath the layer of fat, while this is great to trim and tone the abdominal muscles; this simple exercise does very little in removing the unwanted fat that has accumulated around your midsection and throughout your love handles.  Yet, millions of people still think that by doing sit ups alone they will rid themselves of their love handles.  It is true that when you perform sit ups your clothes may fit better, but this is because you’re tightening up the muscles around your core, thus drawing the fat in, instead of getting rid of it.

 If you are using sit ups alone to get rid of your love handles than you will quickly be disappointed to find out that it in nearly impossible to shed that last layer of fat.  However, sit ups are a great way to improve your midsection and when used with proper diet and exercise it is a great way to tone up your abdominals.  There are several exercises that you can do that will help you in your quest to rid love handles from your body.  The first of these exercises is called the army crunch.  How to you perform this exercise is by laying on the ground and only doing half a sit up, which is called a crunch.  After doing a complete crunch, you then crunch up again, instead this time twist your upper body to your left knee, then return to the starting position.  The next movement you perform is a normal crunch and then after that repeat the twisting crunch only this time focus towards your right knee.  By doing this particular exercise you are targeting all of you major muscles within your abdominal section.

 It is true that there is no such thing as a target weight loss because your body uses all of your fat cells as a system, not as individual cores.  However, by focusing your attention on cardio exercise and proper amounts of sit ups, you will begin to notice a shrinking midsection and your love handles will soon be gone.  By incorporating a great abdominal workout routine to your everyday life, you will notice a tighter midsection, and soon the layer of fat will begin to disappear.  However, in order to gain the results that you want, you must make sure you have a well-rounded diet plan, that is low on starchy foods and saturated fats as well as a great workout routine, that includes sit-ups, and of course, you must remain diligent.
