All About Master Cleanse Lemonade Diet

 

The Master Cleanse Diet, also known as the Lemonade Diet, has been around for over 50 years. This may come as a surprise to some who mistakenly thought that this was the latest way to lose weight, straight from Hollywood’s finest like the newly svelte Beyonce, whose weight loss on the diet has made headlines. But the Master Cleanse Lemonade Diet was not originally intended to be a diet at all. Instead, it was created as a body cleanse to get rid of toxins and infuse you with new energy.

The weight loss was just a happy side effect of the diet. People have embraced the diet part of the plan and ignored the body cleanse part for quite awhile now, but both work as well today as they did when the diet was first developed by a Stanley Burroughs, who also wrote a book about the diet called The Master Cleanser in the 1950s.

If you think you would like to try the Master Cleanse Diet, be aware that is more like a complete fast. No food is to be consumed for the ten to forty days that the diet usually lasts. All that you consume each day is -

• At least 60 ounces of water, used to make the lemonade recipe. Most people drink 6 ten ounce glasses of the lemonade.

• It is permissible to drink more than this, up to 120 ounces of the lemonade mixture, or 12 ten ounce glasses. You must determine the amount that your body needs.

• You don’t have to gulp down the entire ten ounce glass at once. If you prefer, you can sip the mixture at intervals throughout the day.

• 12 Tablespoons of Organic Maple Syrup, Grade B preferred – the darker, the better. You use 2 Tablespoons for each glass of water.

• 12 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice. This must be freshly squeezed! Commercially bottled lemon juice will not have the same effect as the fresh. This works out to 2 Tablespoons per 10 ounce glass.

• A small pinch of cayenne pepper in EACH glass of lemonade.

Those who have tried this diet absolutely swear by it. They claim that they feel a burst of energy from the very first day of drinking the lemonade. It is best to follow the diet plan for at least 10 days for the best results. You will be surprised to find that you are not hungry. This is because the lemonade mixture contains quite a few vitamins and minerals to keep the body satisfied.

As part of the Master Cleanse Lemonade diet, you are instructed to drink a laxative herbal tea both in the morning and at night in order to help your body eliminate toxins that the lemon juice mixture will loosen up inside the body. Every other morning, exchange the tea with a Salt Water Flush. This is prepared with 2 teaspoons of sea salt mixed into a quart of warm water. You must drink the entire quart! This is essential to clean out your entire digestive tract quickly and efficiently.

When you are ready to end your Master Cleanse diet, began slowly with a mixture of one half cup of freshly squeezed orange juice mixed with one half cup of water.  You may continue to drink more freshly squeezed orange juice throughout the day. Do this for two days. On the third day, make a vegetable broth from fresh vegetables such as greens, carrots, potatoes, celery, onions and the like. Consume mainly the broth, and continue the orange juice as well. You may eat more on the fourth day, adding items such as salads, fruits, and nuts. On the fifth day, eat normally, but avoid meat and any sort of junk food.

You may continue the diet if you have more weight to lose by using the lemonade mixture during the day only, then eating a light vegetarian meal at night. Do this for 20 to 30 days, and then return to the lemonade only regime.

You may feel a bit nauseated for the first couple of days as the toxins in your system began to circulate in preparation to leave your body. Stick with the lemonade – the results are well worth it. Not only will you lose weight, but your skin will clear up, you allergies will be nearly non-existent, arthritis pains will lessen or completely vanish, your immune system will be stronger, you will have tons more energy and a better outlook on life!
