There is no doubt that we have never been as concerned about our weight and our health as we are now in this society. About 4 million Americans weigh over 300 pounds and about half a million are over 400 pounds. 65% of Americans are overweight and now we are finding out that our children are breaking obesity records due to bad eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle. Currently there are so many diets on the market that it could make your head spin just trying to decide which one to do. Should you go low-carb, no fats, no sugar, no processed foods, vegetables only or grapefruit only? Should you exercise everyday or just a few days a week? Is a regular colon cleansing essential to losing weight and staying healthy? The list is endless.
So are these so-called diets working at all? Do most people who start one of these actually maintain their weight loss? Are they any healthier? Most people who have ever started a diet report that they fail and unfortunately we have never been larger than we are today as a society.
