Speed Up Your Metabolism

This article will focus upon explaining the benefits of a metabolism booster.  There are different ways in which you can push your body so that you burn more calories after the workout than you currently do.  The first part of the article will explain why you need to push yourself during the workout with the second portion of this article explaining how your body continues to burn calories after the workout.

The first key about be metabolism booster is to make sure that you push yourself as much as possible during the workout.  You want to put in maximum intensity when you're doing your work.  It's important that you burn as many calories as you can during the workout but a little known fact is that you can burn significantly more calories after the workout. To go back to the first point about pushing yourself during a workout: if you are able to burn an extra 50 calories per workout and you work out five times a week, that equals 13,000 more calories which you have burned over the course of a year.  It takes roughly 3500 calories to burn a pound of weight so this extra 50 calories you burn every day has allowed you to lose an extra 10 pounds within a year.  Think about the dividends you are receiving within your body by staying on the treadmill for an extra five minutes a day.

Calorie burning after a work out can last anywhere from 24 to 48 hours.  Your body requires a certain amount of oxygen so that it may return itself to a resting state.  If oxygen continues to be consumed an elevated rate (which is what happens during a workout), energy also is being used to help restore your body to the resting state.  Oxygen is very important because it helps restore circulatory hormones as well as removing lactic acid that your muscles have created. To bring this full circle in regards to the paragraph above, those extra calories which you burn during the workout will require the body to work harder to re-oxygenate your blood and bring the body back your resting state so you are getting a great return on your investment for the work you put in.

This explains why you must push yourself so hard during the workout and what you get out of it afterwards. Exercising is one key within the puzzle and doesn’t take a great deal of time during the week. Pushing yourself that much harder during the three hours a week you are at the gym has a huge effect.

Hopefully this article has given you some insight into why you should push yourself during the workout to the maximum intensity.  It will have an important impact upon how many calories are burned during the workout but the cumulative effect from the after burn and over the course of a year adds up to greet positive impact for you and to help you get in the shape you want to be in.
